Volcanoes -- Melting Rocks. Most magma that reaches the surface in volcanic eruptions comes from a part of Earth's mantle called the asthenosphere. ... Turning this solid rock into liquid magma means changing its temperature, pressure, and water content.

They are comes from the core of the earth which are formed due to very high pressure and temperature when a volcano erupts it comes out in the form of lava which then turn into rocks after cooling.
