it is due to the equal scattering of light when passes through the molecules of the cloud which(molecules in clouds) have their size bigger than the wavelength of the incident light.

Clouds are white because light from the sun is white. ... But in a cloud, sunlight is scattered by much larger water droplets. These scatter allcolours almost equally meaning that the sunlight continues to remain whiteand so making the clouds appearwhite against the background of the blue sky
rain clouds are gray instead of whitebecause of their thickness, or height. That is, a cloud gets thicker and denser as it gathers more water droplets and ice crystals — the thicker it gets, the more light it scatters, resulting in less light penetrating all the way through it.
