Acids are sour in taste
They turn blue litmus red
Eg.vinegar,lime juice,etc.
Bases are bitter in taste and soapy to touch
They turn red litmus blue
Eg.lime water,baking soda,etc.
Indicators are substances used to find out whether the given solution is an acid or a base.
Eg.litmus paper, phenolphthalein,China rose,etc.
The reaction between an acid and a base is known as neutralization.Salt is produced in this process with the evolution of gas.
