Chemical properties depend on the number of valence electrons, which inturn depends on atomic number and not atomic weight chemical properties depend on the atomic numb of the elements and atomic weight effects the physical properties

Atomic weight is the weight protrons and neutron in the nucleus of the atom given in anu (atomic number unit). Atomic no is the number of electrons or protrons the atom has, chemical properties are depends on no electrons and no of electron is equal to the atomic no.
