Explain why becl2 has a zero dipole moment although be-cl bond are polar

Explanation:

Draw the structure of BeCl2. It has a linear structure with Be in the centre and the 2 chlorine atoms at its opposite sides. Due to this structure, the dipole moment between Be and Cl atom on one side gets cancelled out by the other Cl atom on the other side. Hence the dipole moment is zero.
