Bile juice contain bile salts which break the fats into smaller globules which increases the efficiency of enzyme action so therefore it is essential for digestion

Bile juice creates an alkaline medium for the pepsin to act on proteins { HCl in the stomach had earlier activated the pepsinogen to pepsin} and convert them to amino acids. Bile salts also break up larger fat globules into smaller globules ( emulsification ) so that they can be acted upon by the pancreatic juice's enzyme lipase, which will convert them into fatty acids.
