All the cells in our body need oxygen in order to function properly. Our lungs and the rest of the respiratory system are what enable us to breathe in this oxygen. The oxygen is pumped into our bloodstream and carried to the cells and tissues throughout our body. Unfortunately, there are diseases that affect the functioning of our lungs.
