hey mate! here is your answer

stars are too far from the earth and therefore they are considered as point sources of light .when the light coming from the stars passes through the earth atmosphere it gets reflected at different levels due to the variation of air density at different levels of the atmosphere .

when the star light reflected by the atmosphere comes more towards us it appears brighter than when it comes less towards us.hence stars seem to Twinkle at night .

As planets are of larger size than stars and much closer to the earth they can be considered as a collection of large number of points raised sources of light the total variation in the amount of light entering our eyes from all this individual point Sized sources will average out to 0 which nullify the twinkling effect .therefore planets do not Twinkle .

hope this will help you
