Sodium and Potassium are the most reactive metals on this earth. They react very explosively with both water and air that is why they are stored in kerosene instead. ... Since potassium is highly reactive in nature, it reacts vigorously even with air (oxygen). So its very risky to keep potassium in open.

because sodium is very reactive metal. we should store it in kerosene because sodium does not react with kersosene
