##Because leguminous plants have roots with nodules. These nodules contain nitrogen-fixing bacteria like Rhizobium. These bacteria convert nitrogen from the atmosphere into nitrates and nitrites and fix them in the soil. These nitrates and nitrites are then absorbedd by the roots. Thus, there is no need to add extra nitrogen by using nitrogenous fertilizers for leguminous plants...........##
