They pant during summers because they have fewer sweat glands as compared to humans and also most of them are located in their paws, so they face difficulty in losing heat from the body. due to panting, they regulate the temperature of their mouth and tongue and also the blood which gets circulated along their head.

Dogs do pant because they have fewer sweat glands as compared to humans and most of their sweat glands are present in their paws .So they find more difficulties to loose heat from their body.the panting is a process whivh helps them to regulate the temperature of the body ,their tongue and even the blood which goes to their brain and the other parts.in short it is their natural process to face the heat as we do sweat and regulate the temperature of our body.
