#Gun powder does not need air to combust as its ingredients itself react to produce heat and flame.#Constituents of gun powder are potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulphur.
#Gun powder reacts with the environment and produces flames it self it is very reactive so it produces flames

Gun powder already has oxygen in it. The constituent potassium nitrate contains oxygen, so gun powder doesn't need more oxygen to produce fire.
Potassium nitrate reacts with charcoal to give a large amount of heat along with carbon dioxide gas.
