In pushing frictional force is greater than that of in case of pulling. The force applied to move a body depends upon effective weight . As effective weight in the case of pulling is less than in the pushing so less force is required in pulling . Hence, it is easier to pull than to push.

Answer:

Explanation:

While pulling a lawn roller, the vertical component of the force applied acts in upward direction which decreases the apparent weight of the lawn roller i.e.

W ( apparent) =mg-f sinTheta

While pushing the lawn roller the vertical component of the force applied acts in downward direction eventually increasing the apparent weight of the lawn roller i.e

W(apparent) = mg+ f sinTheta

Hence,it is easier to pull a lawn roller than to push it
