It is easier to push a lighter box than a similar heavy box on the same floor as although they have the same gravity pulling them (same gravitational force) but the mass of the object has been increased. That's why this type of situation occurs.

Gradually when we are pushing a lighter box...We are follwing one of the laws of Newton....The second one......WHICH IS F=ma....so it is clear that a lighter box has a less mass so that a less force is req.d to push it....But it is completely opposite in the case of a heavier box....WHich Has a heavier mass..
