A physical change is a change in which there is no change in the chemical composition of the substance. Therefore melting of ice to form water is a physical change because when I've melts to form water , there is no change in the chemical composition of ice.

Ice is a solid form of water when it melts it changes from solid state to liquid state hence it is a physical change.
If it converts into any other compounds then it is a chemical change
