Nose contains hairs as well as mucus membrane which traps the dust particles and germs from entering in the respiratory system whereas if we breath through mouth, the dust particles and germs will directly enter inside the respiratory system. Therefore, one should breath by nose and never by mouth.

BC nostrils r smaller than mouth carbon dioxide exhale through nose and inhale oxygen into the lungs And because we exhale more slowly through the nose than we do though the mouth, the lungs have more time to extract oxygen from the air we've already taken in.
