➡ As we all know that carbon is the onlyone element who has the maximum liability for the arrangements of the attainable C-C ( 348 kJ mol-¹ )bonds, so that it may forms a huge number of alkanes.

▶At the same time , Silicon is weaker than the Carbon, so that Si-Si ( 297 kJ mol-¹ ) bonds were having a very minor tendency for the arrangements; that's why it forms less/some Silanes.
