Density depends on the inter molecular force i.e. the place between the particles of the matter. As the particles in solid are close to each other the density is more in solid, the density of liquid is more than gas and less than solid because the particles are more close to each other than air and little away than gases, the particles in gases are away than solid and liquid that's why the density is less in gases than solid and liquid.
