Some metal oxide have property to react with both acid and base to form H2 gas.
For example: Na2ZnO2 and NaAlO2.

Those metal oxides which show basic as well as acidic behaviour are known as amphoteric oxides. Amphoteric oxides react with both acids as well as bases to form salts and water. The two examples of amphoteric oxides are aluminium oxide (Al,O3) and zinc oxide (ZnO).
