Because of newton's first law of motion.when the tree is shaken vigorously ,tree comes in motion while the leaves have tendency to be rest.hence the leaves get detached from the tree if we vigorously shake the branch

When the branch is suddenly set in motion, the leaves attached to it tend to continue in their state of rest, on account of inertia of rest. This generates a lot of strain at the junction of leaves and the branch. Due to this strain, some leaves get detached from the branch.
