Explain why steam pipes warm
of a building more effectively than hot water pipes in cold countries

While changing state from water at 100 0 C to steam at 1000 C,it require extra heat i.e. known as latent heat of vaporization(around 540 kcal/kg), that means steam having more heat than that of water, so it can be use more effectively to warm the building more effectively than hot water pipes in cold countries.
