Explain why the difference between the duration of day and night are not felt at kanyakumari but is felt at kashmir

Kanyakumari the difference of day and night is hardly felt because it is more close to the equator and receive direct sunlight and is lesser in latitude whereas in Kashmir the distance from the equator is very large so it has higher latitude and does not receive direct sunlight.
