Explain why the periods in the periodic table do not have the same number of elements in them

becz the number they have on top are the number of electrons they have inside them like in elements have protons-positive energy,neutrons-neutral charge and electrons-negative charge.

they're arranged according to electron configuration.

they all are different some are gases,metals etc.
