During sexual reproduction two different parent i.e. male and female take part as a result of which the newly formed zygote possess genetic material of both parents. It leads to interchange of genetic information between two gametes which is passed to the progeny and develops variation. Offsprings produced as a result of sexual reproduction are genetically different from the parents due to the process of meiosis, during which crossing over takes place which creates recombination.
