We feel comfortable under a fan when we are perspiring .

When we are sitting under a fan and perspiring, the water (or, sweat!) get’s evaporated faster than usual (because of the fan).

Evaporation results in a cooling effect.

This is due to the reason that when evaporation occurs, the liquid (sweat in this case) absorbs heat from the surroundings in order to evaporate. Thus, it takes a lot of heat from your body as well. Your skin thus becomes cool.

This happens even when the fan is switched off. But with the fan switched on, the effect can be felt in a better (and cooler!)
