If an atom contains one electron and one Proton will it carry any charge or not? ​

ANSWER

No, the atom will not carry any charge. This is because the electron has one unit in negative charge where as a Proton has an equal and opposite 1 unit positive charge due to which the net charge on the atom is 0.
