Explain why when some fireworks are left off at a distance, we see the fireworks first before hearing the sound of explosion.

because inside it explosive combustion occurs

It would not be an explosion without the boom! The sound and light of the fireworks happen at the same time, but sound travels much slower than light, so you always see the brilliant colors before you hear the boom
