Explain, why when some water is poured on soil it gets absorbed ,but the same water flows down when poured on a cemented floor

because soil has more percolation rate than that of the cemented floor. or we can say that soil have water absorbing properties but cemented floor do not have that. also soil has pores in it.

We know that soil is made up of particles so, the particles must have space between them.
Hence, water poured on the soil, get pass through the pores and appeared as absorbed.
Since, cemented floors don't have such open pores. That is why they don't allow percolation of water.
