The number of hetrotrphs found in desert regions is smaller however they are found in greater number in the sea why is this so? (Write in breif)

The number of heterotrophs in the ocean is greater than the number of heterotrophs in the deserts as in the ocean there is more life for the plants to feed on.Whereas the life in the desert is scarce making the life of heterotrophs difficult than autotrophs in deserts
