Zinc ,Cadmiuma and mercury are not regarded as transition and normal elements beacuse it's compound ions contained full filled D-orbital or sub cells. So they are unstable.

Answer:

The electronic configuration of zinc, cadmium and mercury are represented by the general formula (n-1)d¹° ns². The d-orbitals in this elements are completely filled in their ground state as well as in their common oxidation states.Hence, these elements do not exhibit characteristic properties of transition elements. Therefore , they are not regarded as transition elements.
