The random movement of particles in a chamber filled with fluid or gas because of the collision between the molecules is known as Brownian movement. The phenomenon was first noted by Robert Brown, a botanist back in 1827.

The pedesis is another name for the Brownian movement. According to the Brownian movement a particles with large size can also be moved after the collision with other molecules despite of the size of the molecule.
