Male Reproductive System -
The male sperms or gamets are produced in a pair of testes. They are situated outside the abdominal cavity. The sperms are carried by a pair of sperm ducts, called the vas deferens, to the urethra present in the penis.
Penis is an organ that transfers sperms into the vagina of the female body.
Female Reproductive system -
The female reproductive system consists of a pair of ovaries in the lower abdomen, a pair of oviducts and the uterus.
The female gamets are produced by the ovaries, Once a female reaches puberty, a mature ovum is released from either of the ovaries into the fallopian tube, every month.
If the ovum gets fertilised by the sperm, a zygote is formed which develops into the embryo.
Development of embryo takes place inside the uterus or the womb. If the ovum is not fertilised it is discharged out of the body.
