Bleaching action of chlorine is permanent. Justify?

Bleaching action done by this way is permanent because other compounds like sulphor di oxide bleaches by reduction which is considered to be mild... When chlorine reacts with water it produces nasant oxygen

Chorine water on standing lose its yellow colour due to the formation of HCl and HOCl. Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) so formed, gives nasant oxygen responsible for its oxidising and bleaching properties.
