This is one of the most important consumer right. According to this, consumers have the right to know about the products in their goods. In October 2005, the Government of India sanctioned a right to infirmation, which states that every citizen has the right to know about the functions of the government.

The right to information, starting on October 2005, made it mandatory for the manufacturers to give the necessary details of their products like possibilities of any harm, expiry date etc. printed on their product's pack.....with this the consumers were aware the quality of the product they were using
