methods of asexual reproduction are
1) binary fission
2) budding
3) fragmentation
4) regeneration
5) spore formation
6) vegetative propagation
binary fission - it is one of the most common method of asexual reproduction in unicellular organisms like bacteria. In bacteria the single cell divides itself into almost two equal halves. nucleus also divides into two parts . each of the two parts then grows into full size
example are bacteria and amoeba
budding - budding is commonly observed in yeast . A bulb like projection tube called bud , is formed on the body . The nucleus of the body divides into two .
example are budding in yeast
regeneration- the ability of living things to repair themselves or grow lost parts is called regeneration
spore formation - spores are very small in size . they have thick walls. the thick walls help spores to survive in adverse conditions of the environment, like high temperature
example are ferns , mosses
fragmentation- in some filamentous plants such as spirogyra each filament breaks up into two or more fragments. each fragments or pieces grows into a new individual
example - spirogyra
vegetative propagation
this is an asexual method of reproduction in plants where vegetative parts namely the root ,stem or leaf give rise to new plants . no seeds are produced
example - onion
