human blood is red in colour due to the presence of haemoglobin (Hb). red blood cells or erythrocytes containes red coloured pigment called haemoglobin which is iron containing protein.

Haemoglobin is there in our red blood cells of vertebrates so it will give these cells special red colour or you can say that colour of the blood because haemoglobin contains metal iron.

This molecule absorbs oxygen when we breathe and release the air and then it will turns red and then this blood will be circulated into our whole body.
