Different types of phyllotaxy:
- "Arrangement of leaves" on plant stem is termed as phyllotaxis or phyllotaxy in Botany.
- Phyllotaxy can be identified into three types opposite, alternate and whorled phyllotaxy.
- A single leaf arises from the node of the branch in alternate phyllotaxy, mostly found in sunflower and peepal.
- Two "leaves arising from the node" in the opposite direction of plants, it is called as opposite phyllotaxy, it usually found in jamun plants and guava.
- If three or more leaves arises from the node it is whorled phyllotaxy usually found in Alstonia.
