Explanation: As the diaphragm contracts and moves downwards,the chest cavity becomes larger and air is sucked from outside the lung. The air first passes through the nasal cavity (the hair in the the nasal cavity stops dirt and other irritants from going inside) and goes into the wind pipe separate into the two bronchus and then bronchi and then lastly after separating into bronchioles it reaches the alveoli. The oxygen from the air diffuses out from the alveoli into the blood capillaries. From there it is pumped to all parts of the body and then deoxygenated air leaves the body as we exhale.
