As per diagram, its clear that river are eroding the portion of soft-rock layers along with formation of some landforms in some course of a river. But soft portion of silk will be eroded faster ghan the harder silt particles. As a result, the catchment area should be smaller in this case. If its bigger, erosion will be more and hence silt removing will more from the soft silts.
