Explanation:

Principle of working:

AC generator works on the principle of Faraday's Laws of electromagnetic induction. According to it, when there is change of magnetic flux through a conductor loop, an emf is induced across the ends of the loop. The induced emf is such that it opposes the cause that induced it. It is given as negative of rate of change of magnetic flux through the circuit.

By law of conservation of energy, the kinetic energy supplied by the external means to rotate the coil is converted into electrical energy.

Working:

The strong magnets create a magnetic field between the magnets directed from the north pole to the south pole. The coil is rotated by external means. As the coil rotates, the angle between the magnetic field and the coil changes which leads to the generation of an (alternating) induced emf. The ends of the coil is connected to an external circuit by the means of carbon brushes and slip rings. When the external circuit is closed, an alternating current flows through the coil and hence, electrical energy is supplied to the circuit.
