This experiment demonstrated the interference of light. In it light from a monochromatif source is allowed to fall on two parallel slits and then on a screen placed behind them. This slits acts as two coherent sources of light, light from which reaches the screen covering different path. Resultant wave produces fringes of the interference on the screen.
