1) Population

In the first word there are 4 pairs.

1.........OPUL

Between O and L there are two letters same as LMNO or ONML.

2...........PULAT

Between P and T there are three letters same as PQRS.

3...........OPULAT

Between O and T there are four letters same as OPQRST.

4..............LATI

Between L and I there are two letters same as IJKL or LKJI.

Hence there 4 such pairs.

2) Spontaneous

In the second word,there are no such pair of letters

3) Undersubscribed

There is only one pair between them

1..............BED

Between B and D one letter same as BCD.

4) Beautiful

In this word there are no such pairs of alphabet.

5) Diplomacy

In this word there are three pairs of such alphabets.

1.................PLOM

Between P and M there are two letters same as MNOP.

2..............IPLOM

Between M and I there are three letters same as IJKLM

3..............IPLOMAC

Between I and C there are 5 letters same as CDEFGHI.
