Osmosis is the passage of water from a region of high concentration to origin of low concentration through a semipermeable membrane.
eg: absorption of water by plant roots
absorption of water by freshwater unicellular organisms such as amoeba

Hi !
Osmosis is a process by which molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one.
Eg: grapes or raisins swell due to the process of osmosis if kept in water.

hope it helped!
