Ionic means transfer of electrons
it takes place between 2 dissimilar elements
to make u easily understand
i will give u a example
snighda has 12 rupees ,she want to buy a pen which cost 10 rupees
crystal has 13 rupees, she want to buy a pen which cost 15 rupees
so snighda give her extra 2 rupees to crystal
so snighda transfer 2 rupees
instead of taking rupees ,take electrons,so electrons get transferred.
