The reaction in which more reactive element displaces less reactive element known as displacement reaction.

For example:-

CuSO4 (aq) +Fe (s) ----------> FeSO4 (aq) +Cu(s)

In above reaction the Fe (Iron) is more reactive than Cu (Copper) according to modern periodic table.Hence it displaces Cu from the solution of Copper Sulphate and form Ferrous Sulphate and Copper metal. General form of Displacement reaction is

AB +C ---------> CB + A

Here C Is more reactive metal than metal A so it displaces it

HOPE THIS MAY HELP U  ^-^
