The respiratory system is the set of organs that allows a person to breathe and exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body.

there are two types of respiratory systems

Anaerobic and Aerobic

In Anaerobic respiration it is the type of respiration that occurs when oxygen is not present. Anaerobic respiration produces only two ATP molecules from one glucose molecule.

In Aerobic respiration using oxygen to break down food molecules is called aerobic respiration .Glucose is the molecule normally used for respiration - it is the main respiratory substrate . Glucose is oxidised to release its energy, which is then stored in ATP molecules.
