We have,

 log_{a}( { \sqrt{x} }^{4} )  = y

Since we write,
 log_{2}(8)  = 3 \\
as,
 {2}^{3}  = 8

Hence, the exponential form will be,

 {a}^{y}  =  ({ \sqrt{x}) }^{4}
