Answer:

Let’s solve it in parts.

(4×10^7) means 4 multiplied by 10 to the power of 7 …..(a)

(6×10^-5) means 6 multiplied by 10 to the power of negative 5.

So, 6×10^-5 = 6×1/10^5 (negative exponent is the same as the reciprocal of the positive exponent) …………(b)

Now, from (a) and (b), it is clear that,

(4×10^7) (6×10^-5) = (4×10^7) (6/10^5) = 24 × 10^2 (6×4=24; and to divide the exponents with same base, subtract the exponents, that is, 10^(7–5) which equals to 10^2 ) …(c)

Now, finally, taking (c) into account,

The new question is 24×10^2 divided by 8×10^4.

24 divided by 8 = 3.

10^2/10^4 = 1/10^2 = 1/100

So, 3/100 = 0.03.

Therefore, the answer is 0.03
