now subtract the digit that is not repeating
so we have

Let x be = 0.2353535... ---------(1)

Multiplying both sides by 100 since 2 numbers are repeating.

100 × x = 100 × 0.2353535...

100x = 23.535353... ---------(2)

Subtract equation (1) from equation (2)

100x - x = 23.535353... - 0.2353535...

99x = 23.3

x = 23.3/99

Hence, 0.2353535... = 23.3/99
