express 0.357 bar (the bar is only on 7) in the form of p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to 0

Let x = 0.357 bar

Multiply by 100 on both sides,

100 × x = 100 × 0.357 bar

100x = 35.7 bar

As there is one number under bar, multiply by 100 on both sides

10 × 100x = 10 × 35.7 bar

=> 1000x = 357.7 bar

Subtract 100x from both sides,

1000x = 357. 7 bar
-100x = -35.7 bar

900x = 322 [bar cancel]
____________

x = 322/900

Then,

0.357 bar in p/q from is 322/900
